Decentralization
Decentralization is at the core of our Bitcoin Liquid Staking Protocol, ensuring that no single entity has control over the system. We have implemented the following decentralized components:
Fully Decentralized Architecture
Atlas operates without relying on custodians or centralized intermediaries. The protocol's architecture eliminates the need for trusted third parties, allowing users to interact directly with the system through smart contracts.
Transparent and On-Chain
All major protocol operations are fully transparent and conducted on-chain, allowing for public verification and scrutiny. This approach enhances trust and accountability within the ecosystem.
NEAR MPC Nodes
The use of NEAR Protocol's Multi-Party Computation (MPC) nodes distributes the responsibility of key management and transaction signing across multiple independent parties, enhancing the underlying blockchain's decentralization.
Atlas Validators
A network of independent Atlas Validators participates in the minting and redemption process of atBTC tokens. This distributed responsibility ensures that no single validator has complete control over these critical operations, promoting fairness and reducing the risk of malicious actions.
