It’s time to bridge atBTC between networks. This guide will demonstrate how to bridge your atBTC between NEAR and Ethereum Sepolia testnet networks. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask in our community.

⚠️ Important Prerequisites:

  1. atBTC Balance: You must have atBTC on either NEAR Testnet or Ethereum Sepolia to initiate a bridge. You cannot bridge if your balance is zero on the starting chain.

  2. NEAR Testnet Wallet: You need a NEAR Testnet compatible wallet (e.g., Meteor Wallet, MyNearWallet) set up and funded with some NEAR for gas fees. Your address will look like yourname.testnet.

  3. EVM Wallet: You need an EVM-compatible wallet (e.g., MetaMask) configured for the Ethereum Sepolia testnet. Your address will start with 0x....

  4. Sepolia ETH: If you plan to bridge from Ethereum Sepolia to NEAR, you will need Sepolia ETH testnet tokens in your EVM wallet to pay for gas fees. See "Part 2, Step 1" for faucet information.

Part 1: Bridging atBTC from NEAR Testnet to Ethereum Sepolia

Follow these steps if you have atBTC on NEAR Testnet and want to send it to Ethereum Sepolia.

Step 1: Access the Atlas Protocol Testnet and Connect Wallet

  1. Go to the Atlas Protocol Testnet Application:

  2. Connect your NEAR Testnet compatible wallet (e.g., Meteor Wallet).

  3. Select Bridge from the menu on the left-hand side.

Step 2: Configure the Bridge Details (NEAR -> Sepolia)

  1. Select Chain Holding atBTC: Choose NEAR Testnet.

  2. Amount: Enter the amount of atBTC you wish to bridge. (Minimum: 0.0001 atBTC).

  3. Select Receiving Chain: Choose Sepolia.

  4. Enter Receiving Address: Paste your Ethereum Sepolia wallet address (the one starting with 0x...). Double-check this address carefully!

Step 3: Initiate and Approve the Transaction

  1. Once you have reviewed the details, click the Review button.

  2. A pop-up window will appear summarizing the transaction. Click Process.

  1. Your NEAR wallet will prompt you to approve the transaction. Follow the instructions in your wallet (e.g., Meteor Wallet) to confirm.

Step 4: Verify the Bridged atBTC on Ethereum Sepolia

  1. After approving, you should see a success message in the application. Note that blockchain transactions can take some time to fully confirm.

  1. Check Bridge History: Monitor the "Bridge History" section at the bottom of the Atlas dashboard. A successful bridge will show a transaction link under Destination Tx Hash. Clicking this will take you to the Sepolia Etherscan page for the transaction.

Part 2: Bridging atBTC from Ethereum Sepolia to NEAR Testnet

Follow these steps if you have atBTC on Ethereum Sepolia and want to send it to NEAR Testnet.

Step 1: Obtain Sepolia ETH Testnet Tokens (If Needed)

  • Bridging from Sepolia requires Sepolia ETH in your EVM wallet to pay for gas fees. If you don't have any, use one of these faucets:

Step 2: Access the Atlas Protocol Testnet and Connect Wallet

  1. Ensure your EVM wallet (e.g., MetaMask) is connected to the site and set to the Ethereum Sepolia network. If you previously connected your NEAR wallet, the site might require you to connect your EVM wallet for this direction.

  2. Select Bridge from the menu on the left-hand side.

Step 3: Configure the Bridge Details (Sepolia -> NEAR)

  1. Select Chain Holding atBTC: Choose Sepolia.

  2. Amount: Enter the amount of atBTC you wish to bridge. (Minimum: 0.0001 atBTC).

  3. Select Receiving Chain: Choose NEAR Testnet.

  4. Enter Receiving Address: Enter your NEAR Testnet address (e.g., yourname.testnet). Double-check this address carefully!

Step 4: Initiate and Approve the Transaction

  1. Once you have reviewed the details, click the Review button.

  2. A pop-up window will appear summarizing the transaction. Click Process.

  1. Your EVM wallet (e.g., MetaMask) will prompt you to confirm the transaction. Review the details (especially gas fees) and approve it.

Step 5: Verify the Bridged atBTC on NEAR Testnet

  1. After approving, you should see a success message in the application. Remember that cross-chain transactions can take some time.

  1. Check Bridge History: Monitor the "Bridge History" section at the bottom of the Atlas dashboard. A successful bridge will show a transaction link under Destination Tx Hash. Clicking this will take you to the NEAR Blocks explorer page for the transaction.

Thank you for participating in Quest #5 of The First Pillar! 🦾

Check Wallet/Explorer: Alternatively, check your EVM wallet (e.g., MetaMask) balance on the Sepolia network or paste your 0x... address into the Sepolia Etherscan explorer: to confirm the atBTC has arrived.

(Usually no requirements)

(May require mainnet ETH balance)

(May require mainnet LINK balance or GitHub account)

Go to the Atlas Protocol Testnet Application:

Check Wallet/Explorer: Alternatively, check your NEAR Testnet wallet balance or paste your yourname.testnet address into the NEAR Testnet explorer: to confirm the atBTC has arrived.

We invite you to continue exploring the Testnet and provide your valuable feedback so we can keep improving. Please join our community and share your thoughts.
